Jefferson Veno, Counselling Intern
Hello, I am Jefferson, a counselling intern here at the Miramichi Counselling Centre.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Thomas University (Major in Psychology & Criminology), and I have completed the course components of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. Over the past two years, I have been working as a mental health support worker in Fredericton, NB, which has provided me with a wealth of experience working with various mental health challenges.
I am passionate about helping those who are feeling blocked by mental health challenges. I strive to create a welcoming and non-judgemental environment that will promote exploration into client issues. My education and work experience have provided me with a fundamental understanding of various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, addictions, and relationship stress. I primarily operate within a cognitive-behavioural framework but will be expanding my therapeutic scope based on the most up-to-date, evidence-based practices. You can be assured that you will receive optimal care and support as I regularly receive supervision during my internship.
It can be challenging to begin counselling, and I want you to feel comfortable embarking on this journey. Together we will work on strategies that will allow you to address the root cause of your difficulties and create positive change. I am here to listen and help guide you towards a path of happier living.
I look forward to working with you!
